Real Housewives of Atlanta 5/14/23

So we pick up on the DM-sliding saga by Sheree’s new dude into Kenya’s Insta.

This dude is summoned over, and is also accused of dating someone else in Atlanta. I’m sure he probably is, but whatever.

Meanwhile, Kandi is still puzzled about the weird Courtney chick and the “I don’t know you!!” argument.

We’re all annoyed with the “I don’t know you!!” argument. She blames Sanya for not giving her a heads up that this wacko was goin’ to be startin shit. This argument seems even more ridiculous than it did last week, if possible.

What’s also kind of baffling is why Marlo is acting so normal? It’s making me nervous, how she keeps bragging about “staying out of the drama.”

I’m just messin’ with y’all. I’m still the same old cracra Marlo!! Just keep watchin’!

He at first denies contacting Kenya altogether, then changes his tone, and shows that the messages he sent to Kenya were in August 2020, not six months ago as Kenya claims. Well, that does make a difference. He does get a little aggressive-ish I guess, about it.

But as Kandi points out, he could have deleted the more recent messages, if there were any, but I kind of doubt it. And if he wasn’t embarrassed about the messages, why delete them? Maybe they were a little more flirty than he wants to admit. However, it does appear as if Kenya is using this as a talking point. You know, her ‘thing.’ They all need a thing.

Actually I DM’d a lot of bitches. What’s your name again?

This goes on longer than necessary. She points out his cheating past. Yes we know, Sheree and Kenya tend to go for assholes after asshole. Kenya claims to have now finally realized this, and be more aware of this type of abusive and cheating behavior. They flash on some of their bad choices, which is actually kind of hard to watch.

So we get insight into Drew’s “family emergency” that Ralph referenced at the party. I was kind of skeptical. Okay, I thought he was lying actually. Why? Because Ralph like always lies. Why not say, “she had to go back to Chicago to be with her Dad who is ill?” Apparently, her Dad has Alzheimer’s and is in a nursing home.

I feel like a nursing home would be the last place you would put someone with Alzheimer’s? Where elderly are put when no one wants to take care of them, and are waiting for them to die.

Drew is confused as to why he’s suddenly in a wheelchair. He didn’t go in, needing a wheelchair. So that’s weird. And suspicious. Reason number 568 as to why he shouldn’t be in a nursing home.

Drew complains about music never panning out as a career for her. She also reassures us that she and Ralph are in a good place, and they’re doing music, and not focusing on their issues. Well, that’s good, to not ‘focus on’ your issues. In other words, pretend that they don’t exist. Pretend Ralph is not a gas-lighting cheating, narcissistic piece of crap.

Sure, we’re getting along great! (as she formulates her escape)

Sanya meets up with Kandi. They discuss Sanya’s family dynamic, and how she is taking in her whole entire family, supporting them, providing work for them, and her husband is getting annoyed. It is a strange situation, and I don’t blame Ross for being sick of supporting her parents and her sister’s family. Sorry. Guys, come on. Stop mooching. If the agreement was ‘a year or two’ and it’s been a year, it’s time to tell them to start looking at alternatives. It seems like it is getting awkward, especially with her brother-in-law as her assistant.

Kandi then complains about Todd kind of having to run everything through her, and he wants her to find more time for his projects and whatever. These complaints seems like kind of ego massages for them both.

Kandi’s altercation with Courtney comes up. She made some ghetto/hood reference about Kandi’s ‘crowd’ that she attracts, and Sanya didn’t say anything in her defense, since, you know, she is kind of a follower of the crowd, and the crowd that this was referenced with, were people she just wanted to be agreeable with, to seem cool. Or something like that. It’s not very adult.

Sanya still claims she’s having another child, with a husband who basically lives in another state.

More of the Martell and Kenya drama. Sheree complains that she thought she and Kenya were in a good place before the accusation that her guy wanted Kenya first. Like, does it really matter? We know this guy isn’t going to last, so who cares. Let her go. She’ll figure it out.

Drew and Ralph are going hardcore to convince the viewers how happy they are. There’s a scene with them in a studio, discussing with a producer her musical aspirations, shooting a video… etc etc. She seems motivated, but now that she and Ralph have begun what will most likely be a brawling and messy divorce proceeding, since he was involved as her writer, or whatever, this will probably all be on hold. Who knows. Who cares. We all knew they would split soon as some point.

We get along famously, as long as I don’t try to talk to him.

Ralph clearly wanted to show off his keyboarding skills, since he needs to be the center of attention you know. It’s actually a cute song. Too bad Ralph is such a weasel, and they just could not get it together, because this is really cute, doing a song together.

Sheree talks about the crash of her website, but you all know my suspicions about that, which I shared last week. Kenya stops by Sheree’s fulfillment site where her products are shipped from.

Kenya brags about “shooting this huge commercial for Direct TV” advertising NFL games, which I assume most of you saw. It was cute I guess. They acted as players, and there was a slogan referencing couples debating over watching Housewives versus football.

The Housewives are doing a lot more ‘endorsements’ these days. If you watch Jersey, you know why I’m pointing out ‘endorsements.’

Anyway, after some idle chit chat, and name dropping, they dive into the issue at hand: This Martell, a reality star from another network, who hardly seems worth two chicks brawling over him. But this is where we’re at.

Kenya is trying to paint him as abusive, just like she does every man. He “cursed at her” she points out, and demands that Sheree explain how that was okay.

She brings up the ‘DM’ which really what this is all about. She tells Sheree she’s not interested in “getting to know him.”

Bitch, you know I’m perfect, and he actually wants me.

I love this same old Housewife discussion, of ‘why did you wait until now to bring this up?’ Why do you think??

I’m so confused as to why you didn’t let me know this before, even though I already knew.

Like duhhh -uhhh!!! Ladies, stop insulting the viewers. We know you all wait for the cameras to start this shit.

Sheree has been dating this guy for months, and Kenya never once let her know he had hit her up on social media. Until they started filming. Shocker. This reminds me of Potomac, and Gizelle SUDDENLY, eight months later, decided to address with Candaice that her husband made her feel uncomfortable, at the previous season’s reunion.

At any rate, Kenya claims she “didn’t think about it” until she saw the two of them together during filming. Okayyyyy Kenya.

I like how they are laughing about it, and rationally discussing it, but it needs to be dropped. Let’s hope this does not go on for three more months.

Kenya sticks with the fact that Martell was being ‘abusive’ towards her, because he was defending himself. I do agree he was being kind of as ass. The dude would have been smarter to be like, “yeah I hit her up, so what.” It was over two years prior, at the point of filming in fall of 2022. He was obviously looking to cozy up to a Housewife. Like a lot of dudes have done, and will continue to do. It’s not big news.

I honestly don’t even think Sheree cares about being second choice. I mean, she hung in with a dude in prison for like eight years! Only for him to dump her, the second he got out. Do we really think she has standards? What is happening here? But yes there are red flags with this dude. Clearly.

They end with agreeing to disagree.
