Season 8 of the Potomac ladies. Can’t believe it.
Starting off with some wardrobe obsi’s and other random thoughts.
I’m not sure why on some of the shows, they have the guys attend part of the reunions. I think it’s just Potomac and Jersey at this point that have the guys. I did read once that the Jersey husbands are on the payroll, so may Potomac’s are too.
Do we really even care what the guys have to say? I say no, we don’t.
Also I’ve noticed this – Potomac seems to be the only one that is doing dress color themes on the reunions. This year is black, which is my least favorite ‘color’ of women to wear, usually. For some reason, I’ve been coming around. I’m actually going through sort of a black era right now.
And Wendy’s overall look, I’m puzzled. The wet hair, the makeup, the dress, huge fucking harness accessory. It’s a hot mess.
That ridiculous statement necklace would be awful even if they were currently in style, which they are not. Delicate chains are where it’s at now. And she looks so uncomfortable with that 50 pound collar around her neck. And as per usze, her lips are pursed and she looks constipated. And what’s with the shawl? Is she 80?
Candiace is so stinking cute. You know it’s true. I love her dress. I think it’s my fave and the only one I actually like. Even though it may be one of those body suit things that I may have previously said I didn’t care for, but she can do no wrong in my eyes fashion-wise. I think it’s because when you’re 5 feet tall and weigh 110 pounds, you look good in anything.
However, Mia is looking a little – bloated.
Not sure I’m loving Karen’s short gray wig. It’s definitely aging her.
Ashley’s got it all hanging out as usual. Extremely short dress with an extremely plunging neckline. The fashion rule of thumb is you’re supposed to do one or the other, or you look like a floozy.
Well if the dress fits…
Nneka. don’t like it. She looks like a Star Trek character, Karen’s – meh, don’t really like, Mia’s – hate the big bow thing. Gizelle’s is kind of basic as usual, and Robyn’s with the leggings or whatever, no. My problem with black, sometimes, is that it’s hard to see embellishments on the fabric.
And Andy, all of the reunions are NOT epic. In fact they rarely are. They sit and rehash everything they argued about all season, even things that they had talked through and moved past.
Andy does this thing in the beginning that he wants them to commit to finding a path to move forward or some shit, with whatever is ailing them about each other.
Where do we begin with that one? We have Candiace vs Gizelle, Candiace vs Robyn, Candiace vs Ashley, and Wendy vs Nneka in no particular order. They all half-heartedly agree to move forward.
And yes I know Candiace appears to be a common denominator, however the reason for this in my opinion, which of course is the correct opinion, is because they are all so shallow, boring, and obsessed with her, that they resort to making Candiace their story line. I believe that to be the case with Ashley and Gizelle anyway. The feud with Robyn does have a few more moving parts.
So it looks like Andy may have followed Jeff Lewis’ advice (and mine, I said it before Jeff) and did away with the busy proppy middle school reunion stage.
I figured after he told Andy a few months ago on WWHL, it would take a few cycles for the advice to be showcased, since they were probably already underway.
Looks very clean and – adult.
They showcased portraits of the wives when they did the magazine spread. For Nneka they used her Grande Dame crowning since Mia deemed her not worthy to participate.
I still don’t get what the hell that was all about. I’m sure there was some ulterior motive. I’m assuming it was to appease Wendy, but since when does Mia give a rat’s ass about appeasing Wendy?
Why is this Wendy’s face when Nneka says she rates her first Housewife experience a 10 out of 10? What the fuck is wrong with this broad? Christ have a pot of coffee and take a shit already. Nneka did nothing to her except call her out on her fucking evil crap.
Still don’t get Karen and her ‘wet dreams’ thing. Girls don’t have wet dreams, and I certainly don’t believe Ray has been her only sexual partner in the past five years.
Robyn on the hot seat. They flashed on that terrible scene that I almost forgot about, in the premier of Juan maintaining his innocence while rubbing the shit out of his face, head and eyes for a solid ten minutes.
Viewers are treated with listening to her AGAIN defend fucking Juan’s cheating. He declined his invite to be present with the rest of the guys. Honestly doesn’t that prove guilt? The girls (Wendy mostly) give her kind of a hard time for his cowardliness, which they really shouldn’t do. Say this shit to him, not to Robyn.
And shut up Wendy, your own marriage has it’s issues too, believe me. I can see it even if everyone else doesn’t.
He’s a typical dude that TAKES NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR HIS ACTIONS. He lies when his lips are moving, and seriously thinks if he doesn’t answer to fucked up shit that he did, that means it didn’t happen, and it’s not fucked up. Fuck.
Listening to Robyn defend the story with the Canada chick in the hotel, the chick he works with, his obsession of ‘cleaning’ his phone constantly. I can’t. She knows he’s guilty AF and does not want to say it, or she’ll look like an idiot for staying with him. She can say “I don’t care!” all she wants, but to me it proves that she really does care.
My prediction, not that you asked, is that he’s going to get busted again, and Robyn will not be able to move forward with this ‘stand by your man’ schtick, and will divorce him and admit to knowing all along he was fucking around. I think this is what cost him his coaching job too, honestly. Not Robyn supposedly speaking on the law suit at the reunion last year. She really didn’t say anything except praise the way that he handled things. But it puts him in an awkward position, because he can’t reassure her it’s not her fault, because then he has to admit he does know the actual reason. It’s just all bad. Maybe you just shouldn’t fuck around on your partner. Maybe if you loathe your partner that much, and have that little respect for them, you should man the fuck up, and talk to them like an adult, to their face, and end the relationship. Don’t crawl across the lot to the human dumpster.
Candiace goes into what her and Robyn’s fallout stems from – this whole thing with the Robyn/Juan drama brewing last season, and she chose not to talk about it. Karen and ‘Blue Eyes’ comes up again. This is why Karen has no leg to stand on, because she has been unfaithful to Ray, but keeps denying it.
I’m sure you’ve all heard by now that she got a DUI a few weeks ago after being out to dinner with a mystery ‘friend’ and speeding down the highway shitfaced like a fucking nut job. She tries to put on this persona that she and Ray are immensely happy and it’s such bullshit. Like divorce the poor guy already. These women marrying these much older dudes, and as soon as the ‘7’ starts to be the first number in their age, or is approaching, suddenly they want nothing to do with them. It’s sad to me. Like I guess it was cute twenty years ago, but now it’s not. People age, it’s not a secret. The dude is going to stay fifteen-twenty years older than you. You don’t ‘catch up.’
Back to this – they all start bickering about LAST SEASON, almost two years ago at this point, when they are to be discussing the current season. That just bugs me.
Everyone’s liking Karen’s comment of “The credit card paper is more important than the Washington Post paper.” It was kind of clever. Robyn looks defeated. If I were her, at this point, I think I would just go with, “yes I know he hooked up with this chick and I chose to forgive him.’ Right??
Candiace produces very large receipts that fall completely flat, to show Robyn communicating with a gossip page blogger.
Did she not learn a lesson from Wendy a few years back with the failed poster board receipts?? They look ridiculous. Screen shots on your phone work just the same, and not so embarrassing when they don’t make your point that you went to so much trouble for. Wendy had to have suggested this, as she give accolades when she whips them out. Disappointed Candiace would be dumb enough to agree.
“Nothing hits better than a poster board.” No Wendy, you were humiliated with your poster boards back in 2022. I probably still have the picture of her face when she realized they made no sense and proved nothing.
Wendy’s smug fucking face during her presentation is funny, given that it proves nothing. Fucking Wendy. Like stop giving advice, woman. Stick to what you know. Whatever that might be. How to look constipated daily.
I kind of wasn’t even following what she said to be honest. She thought Robyn’s communication was going to piss off Gizelle, but Gizelle didn’t give a fuck.
Epic fail. Candiace is my girl, but I can call out a fuck-up when I see it. I can’t stand Wendy, and clearly this was her brain child, so it makes sense.
I do feel bad for Candiace though. Yikes – that was tough to watch.
She puts them away. They have disappeared as the cameras show her embarrassment. Oh well. Lesson learned. She did have more boards. We’ll see if they make another appearance.
Andy asks them each what they need from the other to move forward. Candiace first. I wish UN-Zen Wen would stop with the grunts and stupid fucking shit faces. This has nothing to do with her. Candiace is only friends with her because she really has no one else at this point.
She gets ridiculed for her tissue request by the GEB’s. It was a bit much. Andy even calls them mean and he rarely sides with Candiace or defends her. For some reason he has been coming around though. I think he sees she does get treated unfairly due to jealousy.
She wants acknowledgment from Robyn about the Chris/Gizelle situation being crap, which we again start arguing about even though it was LAST SEASON’S topic.
Candiace still believes they plotted and came up with this story line together to distract from Juan’s first alleged cheating episode. I don’t know if I believe that. I do think it was all a ridiculous desperate Gizelle scheme to have a ‘thing’ last season. I don’t think Robyn was involved. She was even telling Candiace she thought Gizelle was blowing it out of proportion.
But having said that, Candiace is right to be upset about that still. It was one of the most blatant and over the top exaggerated attempts at a story line I think I have ever seen. Even worse than Beverly Hills’ Crystal’s trauma over Sutton entering her room without knocking while she was changing.
Candiace never has to resort to concocting any type of story line because the ladies’ obsession with her life, IS her story line.
Gizelle is little by little starting to own how fucking inflated her story was and the accusation of Chris coming onto her. She’ll never admit to it being basically manufactured drama. Perhaps she felt a hair uncomfortable for a minute, maybe, but to turn it into what she turned it into, is fucking lunacy.
I could talk all day long about dudes that have made me feel uncomfortable over the years, but really, who cares. If I didn’t speak up about it in the moment, then it must not have been that fucking traumatic. Gizelle is very vocal and direct, which sometimes I am not. If she was that put off in the moment, she would have said so.
Andy gives Robyn the floor for any last minute comments about Juan and her marriage and she sells it like a champ!!!
Like I said, we will see. There’s only so much even very tolerant women will put up with before they snap.
