Great festive drink for entertaining, before dinner, with, for dessert, or just watching Bravo !!

What Doesn’t sound good about this???

My version is more streamlined, without the flavored liqueurs, than others I found.

(This way you don’t have to go buy like an entire bottle of a weird flavored liqueur that you only need a few ounces of. This probably isn’t a drink you will be making every day, although I see nothing wrong with that !!)

♬ IT’S THE HOLIDAYS – Rory Sullivan

2 oz cran-apple juice (Ocean Spray is best)

½ – 1 oz vodka depending on how strong you like it. I’m not a whiskey drinker, but I think if you are, whiskey would work for this drink also.

1 T agave nectar or simple syrup (equal amount sugar and water boiled, then cooled) Also, if you have extra time, for more apple flavor, use the simple syrup and throw 3 – 4 big chunks of apple into it while you’re cooking and cooling it.

1 Apple slice for garnish and rest in chunks – any kind should be fine. I used Golden delicious. A red one might be better for the presentation. Mine looks like a lemon.

Cinnamon sticks (for garnish and a little flavor – can be omitted)

Ice

Cinnamon

brown sugar for rim

white sugar for apple slice garnish

orange or lime slice for rim, so sugar sticks.

Shake together in cocktail shaker the juice, vodka, agave nectar, (or simple syrup) 1 cinnamon stick:

2 – 3 apple chunks, and ice.

Place some brown sugar on a plate. Rub an orange or lime slice around the rim of martini glass so the sugar will stick. Rub the glass rim around in the brown sugar.

Sprinkle some cinnamon around the side of the martini glass.

Pour into glass, add some more apple chunks, a cinnamon stick to the glass, and an apple slice, sprinkled with sugar, for presentation. This also works as a “dessert drink!”

Don’t fret if you don’t have martini glasses! I did one in a ‘regular’ glass too, and the world didn’t end!

still yummy in a “regular” glass… No Rules !!
