Below Deck 3/18/24

I think Jared’s days were numbered anyway, but it’s still ironic that he got fired for his tantrum over the tobacco, and probably would not have caught any heat for the actual tabacco, since it wasn’t even his. I don’t think it’s his job to clean up after the crew while off duty. He was basically in black-out mode and Kyle did his best to try to humor him and get him to chill out. Sadly, it did not work.

I loved Kerry’s “what’s goin on heeeeeeeaaa??”

I think Jared snapped out of his drunken stupor pretty quick when his boss got awakened and involved in this messy alcohol-fueled confrontation over loose tobacco on the deck.

SHIT!!!

So rise and shine! He looks sheepish as he emerges to start his workday, and gives Kyle sort of an “I’m sorry I was a psycho last night pat on the shoulder. He knows he’s fucked.

Do we feel like this kid was hired just to get fired? I don’t know. Ben seemed to be more of a qualified bosun. I think Jared would have been fine as just a deck hand.

Kerry calls Kyle and Barbie to discuss the events. Kyle tries his best to give Jared a break and not make it seem as bad as it was.

Cat is still complaining about – I don’t know what. Xandi really does try to support her, but never seems to be successful.

Jared gets called, and Kerry doesn’t even seem to be interested in his side. It’s done. Tells him to depart the vessel.

This kid has the nerve to look surprised. You can tell that Kerry didn’t really like doing this, as opposed to a certain female captain by the name of Captain Creepy, I mean Sandy, you know, Sandy Captain Sandy.

Since she’s fucking racist I think she really enjoyed Alissa’s firing, for not addressing her as captain. Maybe she should try acting like a Captain and not a lovesick tyrant.

Anyway back to this, I called all of this in the first or second episode. Jared getting fired, and Ben more than happy to step in.

Jared does need to meet this child, he really does. Geography is not an excuse. There are airplanes, there are credit cards, there are no excuses that make sense.

The housekeeping tutorials are excruciatingly boring. Did Fraser really need to give a lesson on bed making to Cat and Barbie?

It’s making a bed. How fucking hard is it? I was changing my own sheets and making my bed when I was like ten. I get it they’re a little pickier then my mom was, but still wow.

******

New guests are from NORTHERN Virginia and mortgage and real estate people.

What do we think of Barbie’s mom being a sex therapist?? My mind immediately went to ‘Meet the Fockers.’

Cat’s friend calls her freaking out, sounding a lot like Cat, and she starts ripping off her mic. So you know this is going to be a thing.

Fraser and Frenchy seemed to have developed kind of a cute friendship. He speaks in French to his mom telling her how much everyone is loving him.

The guests arrive and they seem normal-ish. It’s early though.

Frenchy makes sushi for lunch. I’ve been wanting to try to make sushi. These chefs on BD make it look rather easy. I can handle it right?

Cat seems to me to have potential if she could lose the drama.

Barbie sets the table while wiping her ass all over it, but no worries, she’s Barbie! She has the cleanest ass ever!

It’s Mardi Gras!! Cheffy’s food is impeccable as usual. No partying until 3am for this crowd! It’s tough writing mortgages all day. Kind of a lame Mardi Gras party,

Xandi bitches at Cat for not completing the cabin cleaning, and Cat starts to unravel. She breaks down in the crew mess while Barbie is on break. She asks her if she wants to talk about it.

Cat answers, no. Barbie says okay, seems relieved and continues to eat her apple.

Thank God she said no.

She tells Fraser that Cat’s crying again. He checks on her. She’s losing her mind.

Fraser fills in Kerry and he calls a water taxi to retrieve her to get her off immediately. That’s kind of unprecedented isn’t it? For a crew member’s departure to have that much of a sense of urgency that they couldn’t even wait until they were docked. Whatever is going on with this friend must be a lot. Or maybe not.

Everyone is running around the boat panicking to get her off asap, as if she has the plague or something. This seems like a lot of drama for someone that just didn’t want to clean anymore and has a crying friend. The guests are watching all of this unfold.

Bosun down and stew down. Hopefully these guests aren’t a pain.

Kerry seems very patient and understanding with the two crew members that abruptly had to leave their jobs.

But we know by now going into every season, we’re going to lose at least two. No surprise it’s these two that went, You know, for two of the crew leaving in the same episode, one getting fired and one having a nervous breakdown, it somehow seemed like drama-free??
