GO GO !! POWER GIRLS !!!
Okay so hadda get that off my chest… I’ll try not to be a dork and drone on and on about girl power…
Christian is visiting all of the designers at their homes to be nosy, I mean see how they’re coming along with their collections:
Shantall – Miami FL – Her little boy is the cutest !!! Christian likes her designs, but not not her colors. Doesn’t like the pale yellow. I love creative people. I just love the way that they talk. That might sound weird. She is experimenting with textures. He has her redoing her pale yellow textured suit in gray, so she has to start. All. Over. I don’t love the pale yellow either, but replace it with gray ?? Gray??
Chasity – Houston TX – Christian donned his cowboy boots for this drop-in, and wonders why she is not dressed “Texan.” (Because she lives there, she doesn’t need to look like a tourist.) She is on to something, but a little behind, and having ‘designer’s block.’ Formal wear is her niche, and you can see that in her designs so far. She has made herself a “vision board” and has a favorite insight/inspiration: She refers to herself as the “black sheep.” She has felt this way in her family, and has even used a sheep-like fabric, that she’s having second thoughts about.
Apparently Christian is expecting to be “entertained” during his visits, and the Surreals’ have put together an awesome – drum roll please, what else, but a Charcuterie! He asks her daughters what they want to be when they grow up, and they both say, “an artist.” As they sit there drawing in their notebooks. So cute.
Next stop – LA. Coral is doing too much macramae again. I was wondering if she would have the macrame plant holders in her home, and of course she does! along with macrame “fruit” holders! He is looking at some of her inspirations, coming from her Mexican Heritage.
He says how nice it must be to come from such a cultured and inspirational country. He’s like. “I’m from Maryland (Hey neighbor!!) what do I know ??” I got blue crabs!” (and a really really ugly state flag— that was my addition) Her collection is mostly macrame. (love the red one) Christian points out that the white one is very similar to the last challenge’s look. He’s impressed by everything, except, of course, and she should have seen this coming !
TOO MUCH MACRAME !! He wants her to use it in a ‘weird unexpected way … I’m not really sure what he means bu that, but hopefully SHE does. She gives Christian a little lesson.
So who knew she had this strapping handsome 20 year old son! He says her work is “gorgeous.” They are all doing macrame together. Who wouldn’t love to be this kid’s girlfriend right? Can you imagine — “Hey my mom made you this macrame dress in her spare time…”
Kristina – back to NYC!! (Queens) He walks in and calls her apartment “minimalistic.” Code for boring. There is nothing on the walls and no nick nacks or anything. Maybe she just moved in. She has been working with a graphic designer to create her own floral prints. She shows him her prints and designs. He mentions again, when entering her bedroom, there are no decorations whatsoever – okay Christian, she gets it. She goes into some Greek mythology to explain about some of her inspirations. She has some ‘celery art.’ What IS this chick’s obsession with celery? I’m hoping she isn’t serious about celery print in her collection. She also has Poppy’s. Reminds me of my favorite move – Wizard of Oz (“Poppy’s will put them to sleep…”)
He’s looking at her designs and I was hoping that she would have something different, but she has the same boring boxy baggy crap. And tweed – ?!! He wants her to do something sexier, fitted and not focus on the prints so much.
They enter the kitchen and Kristina rustles up some celery juice for Christian. (minimalistic) She says it’s like “medicine.” I have heard there are health benefits, so I looked it up, and found this article.

It does do a lot of good stuff! (The only problem is that you have to actually, like drink it.) Maybe we should all invest in one these juicer things and down one every day like Kristina. Christian isn’t too impressed. It tastes like celery apparently. (not chicken?)
Three months later back in NY for Fashion Week !!!

Kristina did go with the celery, unfortunately, and also designed more sexy looks. Shantall nixed the pale yellow as Christian suggested, and replaced with the gray. That may not have been my second choice, but okay.
They get to decide the models they want to use. So if the clothes are already made, they have to alter them to fit the models? I guess that is why they get to choose the models. Maybe they made them bigger to leave room for alterations. Kristina wants her model to hover board down the runway. That’s some creativity. Not sure how that will go.
Kristina brought the celery, and Chasity is bringing the beading.
Love how they help and support each other – Girl power! (sorry sorry this is it !!!!) Four dudes competing would NOT be eager to help each other out.
Kristina did bring the sexy like he asked – but he thinks it’s too sexy. It’s a little scant. … but it’s cute, for beach/resort wear. Definitely not cocktail party. Christian literally says “Sheer? Boobies??”
Kristina is like, “well wait til you see my other one, “it’s COMPLETELY see through!” This girl is one extreme or the other! From baggy and covered up head to toe to almost naked.
Second fittings
Christian is walking around and being annoying.
He asks Kristina’s model how she feels about a see -through top and Kristina’s like – “she’s French” Christian – “oh that doesn’t count!”
Love these ‘real’ reality moments! After watching and bloggingthe Housewives all week, where the new order seems to be bring the “fake drama” or whatever will get you camera time, and a “story line,” this is so refreshing.
He practically wants Shantall to redo her whole line! He wants her to sex it up too. What’s with him. (We gotta find him a good guy!) Almost runway time and there’s hair styling, tweaking and fitting and hemming and designing…
I love Shantall’s sequined pants she’s wearing.
Runway Time is finally here !!! Here we go !!!
Guys this started back in OCTOBER !! Pictures are mostly of my faves — except for the celery, and the hoverboard. But she gets an ‘A’ for creativity.

So Chasity’s and Coral’s were my favorites, Shantall’s, then sorry Kristina – least fave. But still so impressed with all of these awesome ladies !! And two of them moms of little kids ? And did THIS???
Judges convene, and Shantall wins !! I had a feeling of this… Well that’s that!! Guess we’ll be seeing her designs on the red carpet soon !!!
