I wanted to tackle another ‘Mean Mondays’ article today. It IS Monday. And there are plenty of choices.
I decided to focus on this past season of Southern Charm. What in the WHAT was with Naomie, this season, right??? Or NaHOmie, as I started to affectionately refer to her as.
I was never really a big fan of hers. I just didn’t think she was a very nice person, at all, and came off really disingenuous more often than not.
However I did see how Craig was kind of an annoying boyfriend. He was going through his super lazy and unmotivated stage, and he can also get all in his feelings and be really difficult.
She just never seemed very sincere to me, and came off kind of obnoxious a lot. I didn’t really hate on her though.
But fast forward to THIS season, and talk about true colors! From her total ho-ness which she seemed to be really quite UNBASHFUL (which isn’t a word but I don’t care) about and almost proud of herself, to her WHOREiffic treatment of Whitney (yes I felt kind of bad for Whitney – he seems to just get used by these girls – I know – his own fault, but still…)
And to top all of that off, as if fucking someone for fame ratings and money isn’t shameful, the way she treated a friend of ten years simply for ratings fame and money. If you supported this behavior and her ‘character’ this season, then well – see above. Maybe you also perform sex acts and torment good friends for money. Not saying I’m an angel, but I don’t do either, so I found it to be despicable.
So I know there was a lot of speculation as to whether or not this little fling was ‘real’ or not. A lot of viewers thought that they were ‘faking it’ and hadn’t even hooked up at all. I thought differently. I could tell through body language (since I’m a self-proclaimed expert now through writing my blog and taking TV pictures for it) and her facial expressions that, #1 they really were having sex, and #2 she had zero actual attraction to him. Which really made me want to puke, because if she has NO physical or sexual attraction to him, why is she doing this? Well for Bravo first chair stardom, which equates to more money and fame. Whitney is, after tall, the creator and producer of the show. Explains why she was the narrator in the openings for all of the episodes. (think Lava did one) Was actually wondering that when the season started. Then when Leva did one I was thinking, well maybe they’re all going to be taking turns now. I couldn’t tell you who did them in past seasons. I’ll have to look into that, If anyone knows, drop me a comment. Then when the hook-up started to unfold, I figured it out.
I know, nothing gets by me.
I found it rather despicable that she would be using Whitney like that. I think Whitney would like to get married to a woman that wants him for him.
I honestly didn’t want to believe it. But she seemed so weirdly awkward around him, which is what lead me to believing that they were having relations. And awkward as in an “I’m having casual sex with this dude.” kind of way. Not an “I’m trying to keep up this facade kind of way.”
That fake weird embarrassment, closing her eyes and covering her face every time it was brought up. Like it was the SAME FACE, Every. Single. Time. Woman open up your eyes and OWN THE SHIT.
And in that scene, when she came over to the house for coffee, and he tried to greet her with a quick kiss, she looked grossed out, turned her head, gave the poor guy the cheek, and scolded him for daring to THINK he could try to give her a kiss. It was so bizarre. It was so clear he was being used by her. And I know he’s a big boy, and she should have known better, but I think he was starting to like her and was hoping she was being sincere in wanting to actually be with him. He can be annoying just like the rest of them, but he is a human. He’s in his 50’s and single. He probably doesn’t want to do the dating thing anymore, and wants to settle down.
I do kind of think he needs to start looking at women closer to his age though. I’m sure there’s still going to be gold diggers, but he should try dating women that aren’t young enough to be his child.
There’s also speculation if he’s even totally into women. He comes off as kind of bi. As do Shep, Austen and Craig if I’m being honest. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, but just own it.
Then her treatment of Venita, and causing that explosion simply when Venita said to consider Craig’s feelings or whatever. I wouldn’t think it such a hugely horrible thing to do, if they were just friends through the show. But they were friends for the past ten years. Before either of them were part of Southern Charm. Ten years is a long time and an actual friendship.
The way Madison, Leva and NaHOmie went after Venita this season, and got so ‘mad’ over nothing that substantial, made it appear to be take-down of some sort. And she being the only woman of color (no Leva you’re not a ‘woman of color’) this isn’t a good look for Bravo. I started out not being in love with Venita. She was doing the crying ‘racist’ thing towards Olivia and Kathryn, when it seemed to be unwarranted. However I’m starting to wonder now if THIS isn’t actual racism, except she had wrong cast members. They don’t want a black girl on the show? I could be wrong, but it does look bad.
So back to NaHOmie, this chick had NO problem, NONE, pretending to be into a guy she had NO feelings and attraction for, (creator of the show) telling everyone, including her MOM, that they were fucking, fucking over and humiliating a good friend. She treated her WHOREorribly at Craig’s company Christmas party. I felt so bad for her! I wish she could have seen it wasn’t her, and that NaHOmie was just doing this for camera time, a story line, fame and money.
Then the reunion, again the eye closing fake embarrassment when it was brought up, then the completely obvious to any one with a brain and paying attention, that she only hooked up with him for camera time on the show, and had no interest in him at all.
Shep shares that she was the aggressor in their ‘hooking up.’ To which she says “probably.”
She told Andy and the viewers “no no no!” as she literally made a face of disgust, when asked if she and Whitney were still ‘dating’ (were they even ‘dating?’)
Then some shit how they were ‘friends’ that turned for a second, then turned right back.
Coincidentally the ‘turns’ happened during filming, and as soon as filming was over.
Also she refers to them ‘connecting’ over both losing their dads.
Now that makes a Daddy proud right? Your daughter using your death as an excuse for opening her legs for money and fame. And having no problem announcing it to a million people. It’s the Olindo way. They’re ‘French.’ Lol.
So between her using of a dude, kicking him to the curb as soon as filming ended, then bragging about it, terrible treatment, and flippant attitude of losing a good friend for no reason that makes any sense, brings me to bestowing the honor of ‘Mean Girl’ on this Mean Monday.
If I had a ‘Slutty Saturday’ page on my site, she would totally be a dual recipient. (Hmm that could be an idea)
Now THAT’S an achievement!!
