Espresso Martini II

I was feeling this drink for my Vanderpump watching and reviewing cocktail. These drinks are freaking EVERYWHERE on the Bravo shows lately — I think I’m seeing them in my sleep.

I made the more classic version tonight with a few little additions of my own.

These measurements should fill up an average martini glass, with a little left over. So if you’re making two, I would double it.

1 cup or 8 oz of cold espresso or coffee- (you can use decaf if you’re a big sis like me, and can’t do caffeine in the evening unless you want to be wide awake all night long)

1 oz vodka

1 oz milk

1 squirt agave nectar for sweetness, or sugar to taste.

1 cinnamon stick

ice cubes

few pieces of chocolate hazelnut candy, finely chopped or ground in processor (my little touch) You could use any chocolate candy bar if you don’t like hazelnut.

Brew your coffee and place in fridge for at least an hour to chill. Add a cinnamon stick to the coffee while it’s chilling.

Put all except candy in a cocktail shaker and shake shake shake.

Finely chop or grind in small food chopper, or coffee grinder few pieces of chocolate hazelnut candy.

Pour drink into martini glass. The milk gets foamy and will collect at the bottom of the shaker. Spoon some out and place on top of the drink. Sprinkle some of the ground up candy on top. When the glass is empty, some will be in the bottom of the glass, infused with the coffee and vodka – and yummm!!!

It can be like a dessert drink ! But it’s not overly sweet and heavy.

Stay tuned !!!! – I’m working on a candy cane hot chocolate !!!
