Time for another Bravo-inspired cocktail !!

This time I got inspired by the watermelon martini’s ordered by Melissa and Jennifer on RHONJ.

Jersey is a summer-filming, and watermelon isn’t in season in my area, but I was able to find one of those small round ‘sugar baby’ watermelons. It worked. If you can’t get your hands on one, or just want to cut corners, you could always use watermelon juice. Tropicana and ‘ the Simply’ juices make them.

I used the juice last summer for Watermelon margarita’s. You could use this recipe and just replace the vodka with tequila.

These measurements will make two drinks in a martini glass.

Several large scoops of ripe watermelon, picking out any seeds, or around 1 cup of watermelon juice as mentioned above.

Several mint leaves

1 – 2 oz of simple syrup. (equal parts sugar and water boiled, then cooled) I added a few mint leaves and juice from a lime section in mine – optional.

2 – 4 oz of vodka

1 oz Grand Marnier – orange flavored liqueur

2 oz of Simply Limeade juice, or 1 oz of juice from fresh lime.

squeeze of large orange wedge – optional

ice

You can either muddle the watermelon and mint in a cocktail shaker or place into food chopper or processor. Add rest of ingredients and shake in cocktail shaker with ice. You might want to strain the mint leaves out. As you can see, I did not. The mint leaves can also be omitted if you don’t care for the flavor.

Pour into martini glass, pretend you’re as bougie as Melissa Gorga or Jennifer Aydin, and enjoy !!!
